Selected a Character Counts School in 2006!

Sponsored children through "Save the Children" foundation
The children in each classroom learn about other cultures and countries. As pen pals they find as we are all different, we are also the same throughout the world.

Contributed over 350 Care Baskets for the less fortunate
As part of our "Gift of Giving" program, at holiday time, children gather, package, and wrap the baskets, complete with their home made gift tags.

Donated over 150 child-made care packages
As a part of our involvement with Care International, LECC and its families sent 150 care baskets to children in a Peruvian school.

Pulling together
LECC families and the surrounding communities raised over $500 for a local family after a fatal car crash.

Post 9/11 Blood Drive
As a part of Lindenhurst's "Action Awareness Day" LECC gathered 100 pints of donated blood Oct 6, 2001

Sponsored Adopt an Angel program
In coordination with the Department of Child and Family Services, LECC families fufilles 150 wish lists of local foster children annually as a part of our Gift of Giving in December.

Distributed over 300 new toys
During the Holidays, the carefully selected gifts are taken to the pediatric ward, Cook County Hospital in conjunction with The 100% Foundation.

Sponsored the Special Wish Foundation
Administration donates funds for special parties in the pediatric wards of area hospitals for children who are terminally ill.

Gathered over 60,000 lbs. of non-perishables food items
Along with 300 care packages of clothes and toys for those devastated in the Oklahoma tornado.

Held a Car Wash for Reggie Garay
Raised over $600.00 towards a liver transplant for Reggie, a local child, who was not covered by insurance.

Raised $125,000, for Muscular Dystrophy Association
We have raised over $125,000 since 1992. We are the number 1 money producer for a single school in Northern Illinois.

Have Distributed over 1500 Spring Baskets
In conjunction with the Open Arms Mission, LECC has distributed over 1500 Spring Baskets to children in foster care, residential care, and hospital care each year since 2004.

Sponsored The Brian Vermilyer "Hike For Hope"
Sponsored The Brian Vermilyer "Hike For Hope" in which over $50,000 was raised for research at the Midwest Brain Tumor Center for Children in 2004 and 2005.

Donated over 250 Beanie Babies to an Orphanage in Indonesia
The children hand packed (complete with hand made cards) over 250 Beanie Babies to an orphanage in Indonesia after the Tsunami of 2004.

Sponsored "Operation Shoe Box"
Sponsored "Operation Shoe Box", in which over 200 child packed care boxes were sent to Iraq for the troups in 2003.

Distributed 400 School Supply Kits to Children in Need.
Have distributed 400 child packed school supply kits to children in need in our school district each year since 2004.

Collected and Shipped Over 60,000lbs of Children's Supplies.
Collected and shipped over 60,000lbs of children's supplies (clothing, school supplies, and bedding) to an international community school in Ghana, Africa in 2000.

We encourage guests with varied occupations and interests
to visit with the children biweekly. Police officers, Rescue Squad workers, Firemen, Post Office employees, Librarians, Pilots, Dentists, Doctors, Nurses, Veterinarians, and Gardeners are among those who enrich our program.

We promote inter-generation experiences
through monthly visits from residents of the Victory Lakes Nursing Home and through our sponsorship of the Foster Grandparent Program. Young and old find common ground and enjoy each other's company.

We are a link to the community
We are a quality school with an excellent reputation and staff. Academics are the core of our curriculum and manners, social skills, and character building are the heart of our school. If you want to join us as a volunteer, substitute teacher, or enroll your children, stop by.
